Legendary Actor Robert Duvall Dies at 95

Robert Duvall, the Oscar-winning actor and Hollywood icon, has died at the age of 95, his wife Luciana Duvall announced. The celebrated performer passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by loved ones, according to a statement shared on his official social media pages.

Duvall’s career spanned more than six decades and included some of cinema’s most memorable roles. He gained wide acclaim for his performances as Tom Hagen in The Godfather and The Godfather Part II, Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore in Apocalypse Now, and as a troubled country singer in Tender Mercies—a role that earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1984. He also appeared in classics such as To Kill a Mockingbird and The Natural.

Born on January 5, 1931, in San Diego, California, Duvall trained in drama and served in the U.S. Army before embarking on a remarkable acting journey. Known for his deep commitment to his craft, he earned seven Academy Award nominations, four Golden Globe Awards, and a National Medal of Arts.

Tributes have poured in from across Hollywood, with fellow actors and fans honoring Duvall’s extraordinary body of work and the enduring impact he had on film and storytelling.
