North Augusta will relaunch managed parking in Riverside Village on Nov. 8, with a QR-code payment system, several free parking options and an important instruction for drivers: start the required parking session when you arrive.

November will be an educational warning period, with penalties beginning Dec. 1. That does not make November a free-parking month. The city's Nov. 3 announcement says drivers are still expected to follow posted regulations and make required payments upon arrival.

PCI Municipal Services will operate the program as Park North Augusta. The city says drivers can scan signs with a mobile device to begin a session, without downloading an app or collecting a physical ticket. Its parking facilities are open around the clock.

Where parking is free

The free options depend on the location and, in two cases, the time of day.

  • Hotel Deck, 280 Railroad Ave., and Stadium Deck, 124 Railroad Ave.: The first two hours are free. The Hotel Deck and Stadium Deck listings say drivers must register their license plates upon arrival.
  • Center Street Deck, 94 Center St., and Municipal Center Lot, 100 Georgia Ave.: The first two hours are free. Parking is also free Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and during city government meetings, according to the city. The operator's listings instruct drivers to start a session upon arrival.
  • Designated golf cart corral: Parking is free for golf carts in the Riverside Village corral.
  • Brick Pond Park: Free spaces are for park visitors. The city says it will enforce the visitor-only restriction, including against apartment residents and event attendees using the spaces for other purposes.

At Center Street and the municipal lot, time spent in the free weekday period counts toward the first two free hours. Drivers should not assume a fresh two-hour allowance begins at 6 p.m.

Designated paid on-street spaces have a different rule: payment is required at all times. The operator describes that area as between Center and Lafayette streets and between Railroad Avenue and Front Street. Do not carry the decks' free two-hour rule over to the curb.

Free parking time can still require an arrival step.

What the live rate pages show

The operator's booking pages, checked Nov. 3, display the same standard duration options for the Hotel Deck, Stadium Deck, Center Street Deck and Municipal Center Lot:

Displayed standard duration options checked Nov. 3, 2026
Duration optionDisplayed price
One or two hoursFree
Three hours$5.55
Four hours$6.55
Five hours$7.55
Six hours$8.55
Seven hours$9.55
Eight hours$10.55
Nine hours$11.55
All day$12.55

Those are the prices shown beside each duration option, not separate hourly charges to add together. The weekday and city-meeting exemptions at Center Street and the municipal lot still matter.

The on-street rate page displays $2 for one hour, $4 for two, $7 for three, $10 for four, $14 for five and $18 for six.

The city says each paid transaction includes a 55-cent convenience fee. The deck and lot cards already show amounts ending in 55 cents, while the street card shows whole-dollar amounts. The public rate cards do not separately itemize that fee, so these are displayed prices rather than independently verified final checkout totals. Check the total for the selected location and duration before paying.

The operator says rates apply per license plate, per 24 hours. Its pages do not explain every boundary case, including the exact cutoff for an option labeled “all day” or special-event exceptions. Use the current operator information and posted signs for the visit being planned.

If the phone payment does not work

The city lists 803-442-1295 for payment assistance. General questions can go to parknorthaugusta@municipalparking.com. The parking office is available by appointment only.

The announcement and FAQ describe mobile QR-code registration but do not explain a complete alternative for someone without a smartphone, mobile service or a payment card. They also do not spell out disability-related parking exemptions or the process for requesting an accommodation. Drivers who need one of those arrangements should check with Park North Augusta before the visit rather than assume an exception or a particular payment method is available.

The booking site's accessibility statement concerns its digital services. It says users can request accessible formats or alternative access, and that parking information is available in list form alongside its map. That statement is not a description of physical access at each deck or a guarantee of a no-phone payment option.

If a citation arrives, the operator's FAQ directs payment and appeals to ParkNorthAugusta.com. It says parking disputes and appeals are not accepted by phone. The payment-help number and the appeal process serve different purposes.

Before Nov. 8

The city asks Riverside Village apartment residents to contact their property managers and complete parking registration before launch. Employees should ask their employers about available parking programs and rates.

For a visitor, the immediate checklist is short: identify the facility, check its free period, register on arrival as instructed and confirm any paid total. The warning period gives drivers time to learn the system; it does not remove the rules.
