Well… this escalated quickly.
If you’re a local candidate in Augusta and already knee-deep in campaign season, we have a confession to make: we’re new, and yes, we’re realizing a bit late that voting season is right around the corner.
That said, we still want to hear from you — and more importantly, our readers want to hear from you before ballots start getting marked.
This newspaper is inviting candidates in local, judicial, and county-wide races to reach out to the editor to participate in interviews and Q&A features. Our goal is to give voters a clear sense of who’s running, what they care about, and how they see the future of Augusta — preferably before early voting begins (lesson learned).
These interviews are meant to be straightforward and informative, not campaign ads. We’re interested in experience, priorities, and how candidates plan to serve the community they’re asking to represent.
Because we’re working on a tight timeline (again… our bad), interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis. Candidates who reach out sooner will have the best chance to be included before voting gets underway.
Augusta has no shortage of important races this year, and even if we’re a little late to the party, we’re committed to helping voters make informed choices.
So if you’re running for office — or know someone who is — please call us. We promise to listen.
